MOL Pakistan has sponsored the Hungarian Day celebration hosted by the Embassy of Hungary in Pakistan to mark Hungary’s National Day, bringing diplomats, joint venture partners, government representatives and other guests together for an evening of culture and friendship. The occasion commemorated the revolution of 1956 and celebrated the growing relationship between Hungary and Pakistan, with the evening closing on a display of Hungarian art and culture performed by folk dancers who had travelled from Hungary for the event.
The chief guest, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Governor Faisal Karim Kundi, spoke of a friendship built on mutual respect and a shared desire to work together. He thanked the embassy for organising the celebration and praised companies such as MOL Pakistan for contributing to the economy and to local communities while helping to bring the two countries closer.
Hungary’s ambassador to Pakistan, Dr Zoltan Varga, welcomed the guests and described a long-standing bilateral relationship that continues to grow across several sectors, pointing in particular to cooperation in energy and education and to further avenues of mutual interest ahead. MOL Pakistan’s chief executive, Matić Saša, said Hungary’s National Day was a source of great pride for everyone at the company and that celebrations of this kind help cement understanding between peoples and nations. He added that the company was pleased to play a part in bringing Hungarian heritage and traditions closer to friends and partners in Pakistan.
Regional vice president Ali Murtaza Abbas described MOL as a bridge, bringing Hungarian expertise and standards to Pakistan while showing Hungary the potential of Pakistan as a place to invest and grow, and said Hungarian Day was a welcome chance to strengthen that bridge together with the embassy. MOL Pakistan, a wholly owned subsidiary of Hungary-based MOL Group, has operated in Pakistan since 1999 and holds working interests in several exploration and production blocks, including the TAL and Margalla blocks. The company says it remains committed to sustainable community development through investment in healthcare, education, infrastructure and youth-focused initiatives across its operational areas, and the National Day sponsorship fits that wider role as a corporate citizen in both countries.
