OnePlus Buds Pro 4 Surface Quietly With Stronger Noise Cancellation, AI Tools and 53-Hour Battery Life

OnePlus has slipped its next flagship earbuds onto its global website without a launch event or a formal announcement, giving an early look at the Buds Pro 4. The listing confirms the headline upgrades buyers would hope for in a new Pro model, including stronger sound, far stronger noise cancellation and a set of artificial intelligence tools, while leaving the price and the release date unanswered for now.

Design and Audio

The Buds Pro 4 use two drivers in each earbud, an 11mm woofer that handles bass and a 6mm tweeter that handles higher-pitched sounds. Splitting the work this way lets each driver concentrate on the frequencies it reproduces best, instead of asking one driver to cover everything from deep bass to fine treble detail. Each driver also gets its own digital-to-analog converter, giving the earbuds finer control over sound.

OnePlus developed the audio system together with Danish audio company Dynaudio, a partnership that has shaped the company’s Pro earbuds for several generations. According to OnePlus, the new design delivers bass 50 percent stronger than the previous Buds Pro 3. The earbuds also support high-resolution audio through LHDC 5.0, allowing compatible devices to play music at up to 24-bit and 192kHz quality.

Other features include Spatial Audio with head tracking, which adjusts the sound as the listener moves their head, and Golden Sound, which personalises audio settings based on the user’s hearing. The earbuds come in Titanium Shadow and Polar White and carry an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance, which should suit workouts and rainy commutes, although the charging case does not carry the same protection.

Noise Cancellation and AI Features

Noise cancellation is where OnePlus makes its boldest claim. The company says the Buds Pro 4 can reduce twice as much background noise as the previous generation, a significant jump if it holds up in everyday use. The earbuds use adaptive active noise cancellation, which adjusts the strength of noise reduction to suit the surrounding environment.

Each earbud also carries three microphones along with a sensor that detects vibrations from the user’s voice. Together, these pick out the speaker’s voice and push background sound aside, improving call quality in noisy places such as train stations and city streets. Clear calls matter more than ever for premium earbuds, since many people now use them for work meetings as much as for music.

The artificial intelligence features show where the earbuds market is heading. AI Live Translation can help translate conversations between languages when the earbuds are used with compatible OnePlus phones, a tool that could prove useful for travellers and for people who speak regularly with colleagues in other languages. Users also get access to Google’s Gemini assistant through voice commands.

Another feature is Clear Audio Recording, which uses Dolby technology to improve recorded audio, while Neck Health monitoring reminds users about their posture during long sessions. For gaming, OnePlus claims audio delay can fall to 39 milliseconds with supported OnePlus smartphones. The earbuds can also connect to two devices at once, so a user can watch a tablet and still take a phone call without re-pairing.

Battery and Charging

Battery life is one of the main highlights of the Buds Pro 4. According to OnePlus, the earbuds provide up to 13 hours of music playback on their own with noise cancellation switched off, and with the charging case the total rises to 53 hours.

Switching noise cancellation on cuts that endurance, bringing combined playback down to 26 hours with the AAC audio format, which remains comfortable for a week of commuting and calls. The company also claims a ten-minute charge can provide up to 14 hours of listening time with the charging case. The case supports wireless charging, so it can be topped up on a charging pad without a cable.

Price and Availability

OnePlus has listed the Buds Pro 4 on its global website but has not confirmed the official price, launch date or availability in different markets. The earbuds will be offered in Titanium Shadow and Polar White. They also share several features and design elements with the recently introduced Oppo Enco X4, suggesting the two models may use similar hardware, which is unsurprising given that OnePlus and Oppo are closely related brands.

The Oppo Enco X4 costs approximately 255 dollars in Europe, although that does not confirm the price of the OnePlus model, which may be positioned differently at launch. More details are expected when OnePlus makes its official announcement, and until then buyers can only weigh the specifications against rival flagship earbuds.

Taken together, the Buds Pro 4 look like a careful, confident update rather than a gamble, competing on the three things premium buyers ask about first: how quiet the world becomes with noise cancellation on, how long the earbuds last between charges, and how useful the built-in intelligence proves in daily life. If the claim of twice the noise reduction survives independent testing, and if the price lands close to the previous generation, these could become one of the stronger flagship options. Until the price and launch date appear, though, they remain a promising listing rather than a product anyone can buy.
