Students at COMSATS University Islamabad’s Lahore campus who are struggling to pay for their studies have a fresh chance of support, with applications now open for the third phase of the Al-Khidmat Academic Scholarship Programme for 2026. The scheme, run together with Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan, is aimed squarely at undergraduates facing financial hardship, and the window for applying online closes on Saturday, October 31, 2026.
The help on offer is more than a one-off payment. Each successful student will receive Rs. 6,500 every month, which works out to Rs. 78,000 over a year, and the programme also contributes towards tuition fees for the whole of the undergraduate degree, as long as the student keeps meeting its conditions. For a family already stretched by the cost of higher education, that steady monthly support can be the difference between a student staying on a course and dropping out part-way through.
Getting the scholarship will not simply be a matter of filling in a form. COMSATS says every application will first go through verification at district level, along with an assessment of the applicant’s financial position, so that the money reaches those who genuinely need it. Candidates who clear that stage will then be interviewed by representatives of both Al-Khidmat Foundation Pakistan and the university itself, a step designed to test the claims made in the application before any final decision is taken.
Applications must be made online through the Al-Khidmat scholarship portal at scholarships.alkhidmat.org, where students are asked to complete the required details and submit before the deadline. The university has not announced a separate paper-based route, so the online portal is the way in. For undergraduates in Lahore who have been worrying about how to fund the rest of their degree, the next week is therefore the time to act, and the scholarship offers not just money but a measure of security for the years of study ahead.
