The Pakistan Digital Authority has announced new job openings across several departments, inviting qualified professionals in technology, artificial intelligence, communications, research and management to apply. According to the official recruitment advertisement, the authority is hiring for 15 different positions to support its digital transformation work across Pakistan. The vacancies include roles for content writers, graphic designers, AI engineers, research professionals and management specialists, and selected candidates will receive competitive salaries based on their qualifications and experience.
A New Authority With a Wide Remit
The Pakistan Digital Authority is a young institution. It was created under the Digital Nation Pakistan Act 2025, the law passed by parliament in January 2025 to push the country towards a digital society, a digital economy and digital government. The federal government formally established the authority in August 2025, when the Cabinet Division issued notifications confirming its formation and its first leadership appointments. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif appointed Dr Sohail Munir as chairperson and Dr Muhammad J Sear as one of its two members, both on five-year contracts.
The authority operates under the Ministry of Information Technology and Telecommunication, and its job is to develop, implement and monitor the National Digital Master Plan, the central policy document for Pakistan’s digital evolution. It is also meant to build a monitoring and evaluation framework so that digital projects across government can be tracked and judged on results, rather than announced and forgotten. Beyond that, its mandate covers coordinating public and private stakeholders, setting a national data strategy and governance framework, and recommending standards for cloud infrastructure in the public sector.
That is a large agenda for a new body, and it explains why the authority is now hiring across so many fields at once. A master plan needs people who can write it, communicate it, build the systems behind it and manage the programmes that deliver it. The 15 advertised roles reflect that mix, and they suggest the authority is moving from setting up its leadership to building the teams that will do the work.
The Jobs on Offer
The vacancies span communications and media, management and information technology. In communications and media, the authority is looking for a PR Liaison, a Photographer and Videographer, a Graphic Designer, a Content Writer, a Research Assistant and a Social Media Manager, described in the advertisement as a Digital Communications and Media Manager. These are the roles that will shape how the authority explains its work to the public and produces its material.
For management professionals, the openings include a Director for Programme Delivery, a Manager for Programme Delivery, a Director for Delivery Excellence, a Manager for Delivery Excellence and a Manager for National Digital Alignment and Coordination. The titles point to the authority’s central task, which is delivery: turning plans into projects, and projects into services that citizens can actually use.
The technical posts are where the authority’s ambitions are clearest. It is hiring a Digital Solutions Specialist, an AI Model Deployment Engineer, an MLOps Engineer for AI observability and monitoring, and an Agentic System Engineer. The last three titles show that the authority is not only planning to use artificial intelligence, but to run AI systems in production, watch how they behave and build systems that can carry out tasks on their own.
Who Can Apply
The authority has not published a single set of eligibility criteria covering all 15 posts. Instead, applicants must look at the detailed job description for the position they want, which sets out the qualifications, experience and other requirements for that role. Candidates should read those descriptions carefully before applying, since the requirements vary widely between a communications post and an engineering one. Government employees who wish to apply must obtain a No Objection Certificate from their department, and no travel or daily allowance will be paid to candidates called for interviews.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted by email. Candidates should send their CV and a cover letter to jobs@pda.gov.pk, and the CV must not be longer than four pages. The subject line must clearly mention the relevant job ID and the title of the position, so the application reaches the right shortlisting panel. Hard copies will not be accepted. Detailed job descriptions are available on the authority’s careers website at pda.gov.pk/careers, and candidates should study the description for their chosen post before writing their application.
The recruitment round matters beyond the 15 people who will be hired. The Digital Authority’s success will depend on whether it can attract professionals who could earn more in the private sector, and whether it gives them the freedom to build systems properly rather than simply administering them. If it hires well, it could become the engine room of Pakistan’s digital plans, from the national data strategy to the digital identity project. For technology and communications professionals who want their work to shape public services, it is one of the more interesting opportunities the public sector has offered this year.
