Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra Tipped With Bigger 5,700mAh Battery

Samsung’s next flagships are already leaving a paper trail. The upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro have appeared in South Korea’s Safety Korea certification database, with the listings revealing images of their batteries well ahead of the expected launch.

The certification listings identify the Galaxy S27 Ultra’s battery as model EB-BS958DBY and the Galaxy S27 Pro’s as EB-BS957CBY. Both batteries are manufactured by the Chinese company Zhuhai CosMX Power, a supplier that has become a regular part of Samsung’s battery supply chain.

While the battery capacities are not directly visible in the Safety Korea certification images, earlier leaks and China’s 3C certification have already sketched out the expected specifications. According to those details, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will carry a battery with a rated capacity of 5,534mAh, translating to an expected typical capacity of 5,700mAh, while the Galaxy S27 Pro is expected to offer a 5,200mAh typical capacity with a rated 5,087mAh cell.

Both smartphones have also picked up certification for 60W wired charging, matching the Galaxy S26 Ultra. Faster charging certification suggests Samsung is keeping its wired charging speeds steady even as battery capacities grow.

If the leaked capacities prove accurate, the Galaxy S27 Ultra will deliver a 700mAh, or roughly 14 percent, increase over the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s 5,000mAh battery. Even the Galaxy S27 Pro could arrive with a battery 200mAh larger than the S26 Ultra. Samsung has held its Ultra flagships at 5,000mAh for several generations, so the jump would be one of the most meaningful battery upgrades in the Galaxy S series in years.

Previous reports suggested Samsung tested a Galaxy S27 Ultra prototype with a 7,000mAh battery but ultimately chose a smaller cell to retain the S Pen. The decision hints at the design tradeoffs behind the scenes: a bigger battery means a thicker device, and the built-in stylus leaves little room to spare inside the Ultra’s frame.

Samsung has not officially announced a launch date for the Galaxy S27 series. However, recent reports indicate the company could return to its traditional January or February launch schedule, putting the Galaxy S27 Ultra and Galaxy S27 Pro on track for an early 2027 debut, though final specifications and availability remain unconfirmed.
